Our Story
In 2017, Marcus Marvin recognized that the youth baseball and softball players from and around the Mt. Vernon Optimist Club in McCordsville needed a dedicated organization to emphasize fundamentals, sportsmanship, and ongoing growth. Thus Mt. Vernon Elite was born. What started with recreational all-star teams for all ages has evolved into full-time travel teams, recreational all-star tournaments, and everything in between. As a former baseball player with nearly 30 years of experience in baseball and softball, Marcus has cultivated a staff and young athletes focused on the fundamentals, playing the right way, being gracious winners and losers, and becoming great teammates and human beings.

Mt. Vernon Elite plays on multiple softball, tee ball, and youth baseball fields for practice, games, and tournament play.
We Play #TOGETHER
In 2025, our 10U baseball team moved from recreational all-star tournaments to USSSA travel tournaments mid-season, and claimed their first win at the Calvin Strong Event in Ceraland.
